Driver "Driving Speed"

Drivers' driving speed setting allows you to adjust your ETAs based on how quickly your drivers travel on the road!

For each driver, you can set their driving speed. This setting will adjust your ETAs to better match that driver's driving speed. By default, Routific assumes normal speed. (To see what "normal" means, please read the next section.)

In the app, you'll find the driving speed slider in each driver's settings.

If you upload drivers with a spreadsheet, include a column with driving speeds in your file. The values can be written with or without a % sign. If you don't specify driving speed for a driver, Routific will assume normal speed. If you don't include a driving speed column, Routific will assume all drivers are normal speed.

What do Normal, Slow, and Fast Mean?

NORMAL - The average driving speed

Routific's average driving speed data comes from Open Street Maps. The average driving speed is often below the legal maximum speed limit due either to traffic levels or due to the physical characteristics of the road.

SLOW - 10% of the average driving speed

We recommend setting the driving speed closer to slow if you have drivers who are new, who are more on the careful side, or who drive slower vehicles.

e.g. If normal is 50 miles/hour, slow would be 5 miles/hour.

FAST - 190% of the average driving speed (almost twice as fast)

We recommend setting the driving speed closer to fast if you have drivers who are experienced and always finish their routes in record time.

e.g. If normal is 50 miles/hour, fast would be 95 miles/hour.
